    KimLift® Synthetic Round Slings

    BACKGROUND


    Future Synthetics (Middle East) FZC won a contract to design and manufacture a total of 2 heavy lift, synthetic round slings to complement the 30 slings supplied in the previous installation phase in 2022. The slings were used for installing monopiles for the Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm, located in the Taiwan Straits.

    The Contractor landed an order to install the remaining monopiles for wind turbine structures for the 640-MW Yunlin wind farm. As many as 80 wind turbines will generate electricity that will be fed into the Taiwanese power grid via two onshore substations near the cities of Taixi and Sihu.

    The first turbine was connected to the grid in November 2022 but the completion of the project was delayed by three years due to technical difficulties with the monopile installation.

    All slings were made with our trademark Engineered Length Control ® for strict length compliance. Proof load testing was conducted on our KimTest 3000t horizontal test bed in Malaysia – one of the largest in the industry.

    KimLift® Synthetic RoundSlings

    BACKGROUND
    Future Synthetics (Singapore) won a contract to design and manufacture a total of 4 ultralong heavy lift, synthetic round slings. The slings were used for the Transportation and Installation (T&I) project for ONGC’s deep water project. The contractor will deliver and install a central processing platform (CPP) and living quarters. The platform will process wet gas, which will then be exported to an onshore terminal.


    The slings were made to strict length tolerances, quality control and engineering verification. The core load bearing component used in the slings was FutureSteel® HMPE yarn, produced at Future Synthetics using high speed twisters. The exceptionally long length of these heavy lift slings presented no problem for the production team and testing department.

    All slings were made with our trademark Engineered Length Control ® for strict length compliance. Proof load testing was conducted on our KimTest 3000t horizontal test bed in Malaysia – one of the largest and longest in the industry.

    KimLift® Synthetic Round Slings

    BACKGROUND
    Future Synthetics (Singapore) won a contract to design and manufacture a total of 133 engineered synthetic round slings for an EPCIC contract for the floating production unit  (FPU) for the Scarborough gas field development offshore Western Australia. The KimLift slings were supplied with high visibility jackets and extra protection for heavy duty  applications. A total of 96 steel wire rope grommets were made and over 100 high-capacity shackles and hooks supplied as part of the total rigging package.

     

    The slings were used for the installation of huge suction plies and other critical subsea lifting.

     

    The project scope included a battery energy storage system to reduce emissions on the topsides and support the client’s net emissions reduction targets.

     

    All slings were made with our trademark Engineered Length Control ® for strict length compliance. Proof load testing was conducted on our KimTest 3000t horizontal test bed in  Malaysia.

    KimLift® Synthetic Round Slings

    BACKGROUND
    Future Synthetics (Singapore) won a contract to design and manufacture a total of 30 engineered synthetic round slings for 433km of pipeline installation.
    Once operational, the trunkline will connect the Scarborough gas field, located in the Carnarvon Basin offshore Western Australia, with the corresponding onshore liquefied natural gas production facility Pluto. Over a 12-month period, the contractor installed 433 km of pipeline and more than 36,000 lengths of pipe at a depth of up to 1,400 meters.


    The KimLift slings were supplied with high visibility jackets and extra protection for heavy duty applications.


    All slings were made with our trademark Engineered Length Control ® for strict length compliance. Proof load testing was conducted on our KimTest 3000t horizontal test bed in Malaysia.

    KimLift® Synthetic Round Slings

    BACKGROUND
    Future Synthetics (Singapore) won a contract to design and manufacture a total of 28 engineered synthetic round slings for an engineering, procurement, and removal contract for  offshore decommissioning work for the removal of the Stybarrow disconnectable turret mooring (DTM) buoy. It was part of the decommissioning of the Stybarrow field located in the northwest Cape of Western Australia.

     

    The slings were used for the recovery, transportation and offloading of the DTM buoy to a suitable onshore yard facility for
    dismantling and disposal.

     

    All slings were made with our trademark Engineered Length Control ® for strict length compliance. Proof load testing was conducted on our KimTest 3000t horizontal test bed in Malaysia – one of the largest in the industry.

    Cable Laid Grommet (IMCA M179) – Lot 2

    BACKGROUND
    Future Synthetics (Middle East) FZC won a contract to design and manufacture a total of 12 cable laid grommets for the NFPS project – Lot 2. The project had been awarded to the Contractor by QatarEnergy LNG for the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation of various offshore facilities for the extraction and transportation of natural gas, including platforms, supporting and connecting structures, subsea cables and anticorrosion internally cladded pipelines. The project also encompasses the decommissioning of a pipeline and other significant modifications to existing offshore facilities.

     

    Pipe-laying and lifting operations was executed by the DE HE vessel in water depths of approximately 65 meters, leveraging on the Contractor’s high-end welding technology for corrosion resistant cladded pipelines to meet stringent quality requirements.

     

    The unique length and load capability of our KimTest 3000t horizontal test bed in Malaysia was ideally suited to accommodating these long lengths in a full proof load test. As for the grommets in Lot 1, the Lot 2 grommets were exceptionally long for this large diameter and were produced with our trademark Engineered Length Control ® for strict length compliance.

    Future Synthetics (Middle East) FZC won a contract to design and manufacture a total of 12 cable laid grommets for the NFPS project.
