Our heavy lift steel and synthetic slings incorporate several proprietary technologies developed over many years of experience to produce state-of-the-art heavy lift slings.
All heavy lift slings, whether steel or synthetic, are manufactured using our proprietary ELC® technology. This ensures each sling achieves the required length tolerance under the nominated load, delivering exceptional length accuracy for engineered lifting operations.
Steel and synthetic slings are engineered at the point of sale using our proprietary KimCalc® software. This technology enables each sling to be custom-designed through a comprehensive Quality Control Plan (QCP), guiding the manufacturing process to ensure precision and compliance with international standards.
KimLift-X® and KimLift-XB® slings use our own FutureSteel® twisted HMPE fibres as the main load-bearing material. Manufactured with advanced twisting technology and rigorously tested, FutureSteel® is designed to improve sling durability, strength, and reliability through full quality control from yarn to finished sling.
KimLift-XB® slings feature our KimBraid jacket technology, which was designed specifically to enhance protection when used with our slings. The construction, thickness and weight of the jacket match the sling diameter and application to ensure superior performance.
Specialist filtration materials and sealants are used to shield the load-bearing core yarn from sand and water-borne particles that could otherwise harm the load-bearing fibres.
Made with FutureSteel HMPE fibres, KimLift-X slings are known worldwide for exceptional reliability and precision. Trusted by major offshore contractors, these synthetic slings are designed for the heaviest lifting operations.
Available up to 12,000 metric tons MBL and lengths of up to 125 metres, KimLift-X slings are typically 6 to 7 times lighter than equivalent steel slings, helping increase hook capacity and deliver greater operational value.
KimLift-XB is the toughest KimLift® sling, engineered with multiple machine-braided protective jackets instead of conventional stitched covers. This design provides exceptional protection to the internal core, making it highly resistant to damage in demanding lifting environments.

Switching from steel wire ropes to KimLift-XB slings significantly reduces total cost of ownership. KimLift-XB slings are built for the heaviest lifts, the harshest environments, and the most demanding operators.
KimFlex braided slings are multipart heavy lift slings braided in a 9-part configuration and terminated with a Flemish eye splice and steel ferrules, making them easy to handle. The typical construction of a KimFlex sling is 9x(6×36 class+IWRC). Their narrow parallel eye structure makes them suitable for applications with limited connection space.
KimFlex braided slings offer the following advantages:

KimFlex braided grommets are multipart grommets braided in a 9-part configuration as an endless loop, offering excellent handling characteristics.
With a typical construction of 18x(6×36 class+IWRC), KimFlex® grommets include Future Synthetics’ unique Crush Buster device at each end to reduce crushing and distortion at the bearing contact points during lifting. Independent testing under ABS witness has proven the effectiveness of this device in reducing damage to the grommet.
Future Synthetic KIMFLEX grommets are produced “Twist Free” to ensure ease of use.
The KimLock cable laid sling has a resin socketed termination with an efficiency of 100%. This results in a sling with a very high breaking force.
Future Synthetic designs and fabricates our KimLock cable laid slings to IMCA M179 The typical construction of a KimLock cable laid sling is 7x(6×36 class+IWRC).
KimLock cable laid slings are available up to 17.4”(442mm) in diameter.
KimSwage slings are large diameter wire rope slings using a single wire rope with a Flemish eye splice. This product range eliminates the need to use a braided or cable laid sling for the lower range of heavy lift slings.
The KimSwage range has outstanding flexibility and ease of handling that is similar to a single wire rope. The range is available in 4-1/2” (114mm), 5.0” (127mm) and 6.0” (152mm) diameters. The 6.0” diameter sling is made from an 8-strand wire rope for increased flexibility.
The KimSwage range is made to the same strict tolerances as our KimFlex and cable laid slings.
Hand-spliced cable laid slings have been used in the offshore industry for several decades and are still a favourite with many heavy lift contractors due to their proven ruggedness and reliability.

The typical construction of a cable laid sling is 7x(6×36 class+IWRC). Cable laid slings are available up to 17.4”(442mm) in diameter.
Cable laid grommets are made in accordance with IMCA M179 and are available up to 16” (406mm) diameter. Ultra long lengths of up to 120m are available.
The UltraShort Grommet has been designed in response to the requirement of many engineers for a heavy lift connection where the head room is extremely limited.
The UltraShort grommet provides the big connection where the space and available lifting height is severely constrained.
